Stop Serving Kids Lousy Food; Your Kids Demand Healthy Meals

SEATTLE, WA (Feb. 28, 2019) – Why do parents seek out sustainable and organic food at home, then take their children to fast food restaurants where sourcing is, well, questionable at best? Duke Moscrip, founder of Duke’s Seafood & Chowder, thinks kid’s meals should be as organic and sustainable as those prepared for grownups. Today he announces his commitment to serving only organic and free-range chicken in his popular kid’s menu items: Hudson’s “Jump in Your Mouth” Chicken Strips, and Elliott’s All-Natural Grilled Chicken Breast.

“Our kid’s meals have always been healthier than the average kid’s menu because we are committed to local, sustainable, chemical-free, additive-free, and organic when we can get it,” says Moscrip. “But now they will be even better. We went to our supplier, family-owned Harvestland/Perdue, and asked for only organic, free-range chicken. We don’t scrimp when it comes to feeding our children at home; why would we do it at a restaurant? Heck, I even named some of the meals after my own grandchildren.”

All of Duke’s Kids Menus choices are made with the same quality ingredients:

Meals: In addition to the two chicken meals, we also offer:

As children’s obesity continues to increase in our country, healthier food for kids continues to be a topic of concern. A study released in February 2018 found that 40 percent of 16- to 19-year-olds are obese, and 26 percent of 2- to 5-year-olds are overweight and more than 15 percent were obese.

“We know that kid’s restaurant meals are not solely responsible for this trend, but at Duke’s, we want our little Duchesses and Dukes to have the very best ingredients they can get,” says Moscrip.

Kid’s meals are available at all seven Puget Sound area Duke’s restaurants every day of the week.
